Information on the processing of personal data through a video surveillance system (CCTV) in accordance with Article 13 of the GDPR.

The company under the name "GEORGIOS BAXEVANIS THE KNOWLEDGE TO BUILD SINGLE MEMBER PRIVATE CAPITAL COMPANY" and distinctive title "THE KNOWLEDGE TO BUILD" MON.I.K.E. which operates within the  trade of building materials, tiles and bathroom fixtures, based near the Port of Hersonissos, Municipality of Hersonissos, Regional Unit of Heraklion, P.C. 70014, VAT number: 801554635 of the Tax Office Heraklion, with Hellenic Business Registry Number: 159040027000 (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") notifies those who enter the indoor and outdoor premises of the company that it uses a closed-circuit video surveillance (CCTV) system in accordance with Regulation 679/2016 / EU (hereinafter the "Regulation" or "GDPR") and the relevant national implementing law 4624/2019.

Purpose of processing and legal basis:

The surveillance system is used for the purpose of protecting persons and goods. For the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by us, as controller (Article 6 para. 1. f GDPR), processing is necessary. Our legitimate interest in using a video surveillance system derives from protecting our premises and the vehicles located in it against illegal acts. Such acts may indicatively be theft, vandalism and other unlawful acts. The same applies for the safety of life, physical integrity, health and property of our staff, our customers and third parties who are legally within the supervised area. In addition, the video surveillance system can be used to verify or even control money transactions performed within the business premises of the premises (business’ cashier) as well as documents provided by/to customers and partners. Under no circumstances is image data used to check the efficiency of our employees. Our company makes constant efforts so that the acquisition of image data does not unduly restrict the privacy of its employees, customers and partners having signed the respective contracts of confidentiality and confidentiality of the personal data it manages.

Recipients

Access to the material kept is possible only by our authorized staff who are in charge of the security of the site through an authentication mechanism (Username - Password, Log file). We do not transmit this material to third parties, except in the following cases: (a) to the authorized judicial, prosecuting and police authorities whereas it contains information necessary for the investigation of a criminal offence concerning persons or goods of the controller;

(b) to the authorized judicial, prosecuting and police authorities when they lawfully request data in the exercise of their duties; and c) to the victim or perpetrator of a crime, when it comes to data that may constitute evidence of the act or are evidence of presence in our business within a specified period of time.

In this case, third parties depicted persons or objects (e.g. vehicles) are concealed. 

1.Retention period

We keep the data up to fifteen (15) days, after which they are automatically deleted. In case we find an incident during this period, we isolate part of the video and keep it for up to one (1) more month, in order to investigate the incident and initiate legal procedures to defend our legal interests, while if the incident concerns a third party, we will keep the video for up to three (3) more months. The company must revise this informative text in case the data retention time increases over a longer period of time.

2.Rights of data subjects

Data subjects have the following rights:

Right of access: you have the right to know if we are processing your image and, if so, to receive a copy of it. 

Right to restriction: you have the right to ask us to restrict processing, such as not to delete data that you consider necessary for the establishment, exercise or support of legal claims.

Right to object: you have the right to object to the processing.

Right to erasure: you have the right to request that we delete your data.

You can exercise your rights by sending an email to cctv@georgiosbaxevanis.gr address or a to our dpo: dpo@georgiosbaxevanis.gr or by submitting the request to us in person, at our business address. In order for us to review a request related to your presence, you will need to tell us approximately when you were in range of the cameras and provide us with a picture of you so that we can help us locate your data. We would also like to point out that exercising the right to object or delete does not imply the immediate deletion of data or the modification of processing. In any case, we will respond to you in detail as soon as possible, within the deadlines set by the GDPR.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you consider that the processing of your data violates Regulation (EU) 2016/679, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority for Greece is the Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23, Athens, https://www.dpa.gr, tel. 2106475600. 

Publicity Obligation-Marking

The company has placed a special sticker that appears in all indoor and outdoor areas of the business to inform customers as well as third party visitors to the site.
